Kitchen Ideas 1

We live in a 1913 farmhouse/national folk/craftsman style house. We're not sure how to classify this house other than it's a mutt of all of the above styles. There is lots of great details in this house, ranging from wood work to raditors to original light fixtures. However, the kitchen, with all kitchens it seems, appears to be stuck in 1982. It's simply awful. I have dreamed of having a kitchen straight out of the 1910's to go along with my rad hoosier cabinet. Here are some of my ideas, loftly ones I admit.

I'm back...again.

It's been awhile but now I think I'm going to try to start writing down many a things for foreseeable future. This blog is going to go in 2 different directions, just for myself. I want to document my weight-loss efforts as well as my goals and dreams for revamping my 1913 farmhouse/craftsman house we recently bought. Weird combination? You bet. Helpful for me? You bet. Do I care who reads this and laughs at me? Nope.

Back to business

We're almost to the point where things feel relatively normal again. Almost. Darby's almost 4 months old and Rory started pre-school this month. He is loving every minute of school. Mostly I think he likes carrying his backpack more than the actual school part. He's almost fully potty-trained now. A few accidents here and there but over all, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I think it's good that we waited a little while longer than necessary - he's a quick learner now. Darby's achievements? Smiling, laughing, reaching for things, and lots and lots of drooling.

Darby Ann O'Grady

Darby Ann O'Grady was born on June 4th, 2008 at 1:04 am. She weighed in at 8.5 lbs and was 21 inches long. She's now almost 2 months old and is just starting to sleep through the night (thank you, thank you, thank you). The other day when we were at Mom and Dad's house, she smiled for the first time. That is the best feeling in the world to see your child's first smile. Big brother Rory can't wait until she can play trucks and cars with him. He can't get enough of his baby sister.
